Using the wood that has been grown in Hida, the country of trees, its characteristic is that it was built without using even one nail by those local carpenters who succeeded the techniques of “Takumi” (the Master). The pattern each carpenter has, called “Cloud”, is carved on the wood supporting the cross arms under the eaves. There is a section where various joints and timberwork samples are displayed, and you can even try hound’s tooth yourself. |
